It has been said before that Safety Third has a mantra not to repress but the times change and yelling “fuck it” into the wind is recommended for soul processing and skin exfoliation. But this will be the last run (a 75 count one) of these two wondrous chapbooks, and there will be a gesture to be announced very soon that will solidify that promise.

Nearly three years since it’s release Congratulations! There’s No Last Place If Everyone Is Dead still resonates, or least for those that have contacted Safety Third wishing they could get a copy of the chapbook that started this press, and sold out in 48 hours on its release in December of 2009.

Tales of a child named Fuck Nut to the coldness that greets all on the skyline over Moscow Congratulations! There’s No Last Place If Everyone Is Dead grasps to go beyond the lines of the absurd, seeking to place a beating heart in all of the dark places it creates.

Congratulations! There’s No Last Place If Everyone Is dead is the second chapbook authored by Matt DeBenedictis.

It’s no secret that author Matt DeBenedictis is the founder of Safety Third, but let it be known he has no personal qualm about re-releasing his own work. “Don’t hate if it’s tacky to you,” is how he tends to respond to complaints of this re-pressing.

But in this day and age when publishers are in question of their dealings and where money flows it’s best for the intent behind re-releasing Congratulations! There’s No Last Place If Everyone Is Dead to be fully clear with no misrepresentations.
All sales of Congratulations! There’s No Last Place If Everyone Is Dead go directly to fund the next release, which is already in the works. Safety Third is a poor affair, in a physical context the press lives behind the burger joint you love, on days when the heat doesn’t engulf the skull it mergers, asking for money, but the money doesn’t go towards a little booze or a quick pain killer. It goes for the top shelf. It might take some time but the end delight will make it all worth it.

So in short this chapbook (limited to 40 copies) is so we all can get rightly hammered on the top shelf bottle of words to come from Safety Third.
